We are covered up with doe and fawns. Feeders are filled and working. All seems ready and trails and senderos are mowed. I have not seen a buck in a month. I was seeing them for a while, and seeing some nice ones, but it's been a while. I am puzzled.

Acorns, warm weather, they have no need to come to feeders or even out of the shadows

Must be a geographic thing. We're seeing plenty of bucks in Erath County on feeder cams.

My buddy in Erath hasn't seen any mature bucks on cam

Odd. Our place is @ 6 miles south of 20, just West of hwy 109. These are August cam pics but we're still seeing all of them and others. Several younger bucks that I never posted pics of as well. Hopefully they start showing up for you guys.

In south texas we have had cameras out since last season ended. Pretty much the same old same old regulars hanging around does fawns and younger bucks. This last weekend on a camera check we had a few different bucks show up and expect that trend to continue as fall comes on. We don't have acorns around us though.

Buddy is in SE corner of Erath just south of Bluff Dale. Lots of oaks dropping acorns there right now.
