I am considering purchasing a rifle that a guy has up there, but I'd really like to find someone I can pay a few bucks to go check it out in person and make sure it's what it seems to be. It's a private seller so I'm a little nervous to purchase on faith ...

Thanks.

private sellers out of state, not good idea, unless he is on a forum of some kind that has really good standing and feed back of sold items, even then you are taking a chance

Thanks, Colt .45. The fact that I'm nervous should probably put an end to this. That, and the price is a little too good.

It's not the out of state part, but when the price is a little to good to be true, it smells fishy. I wouldn't do it unless I knew someone who I trusted to lay eyes on it. And it just happens to be in a small town a long way away from most hunters. I'd avoid it.

So that particular rifle was made in 2008 ... when you say it is three months old do you mean you have had it for three months?
I have a friend near Eugene. Is it OK if I arrange for him to come take a quick look at it whenever is convenient for you?

No doubt, BassCat. I already flagged the ad as fraud.

Anytime they use "sir" that much, it's a real tip-off.
