I go to a Herrera in Oak Cliff quite ofter. I believe the one I used to go to in the Oak Lawn area back in the 70s was the original, I think.

The original, pic in my post above, was on Maple east side, just north of oak lawn. up

Use to go to the original Maple location in the 70's, you could bring your beer or drinks in and yes it was way good up

Back in the 70's I lived in the Serendipity Apartments just down the street from the original.

That was my go to place when I was in high school at Metropolitan on Olive street, downtown. "Jimmy special", rocked. Place was a dive but the food was so good. This was in '76-'78 time period. Man how time flies.

Kinda' reminds me of "Herberts" in San Marcos at about the same time. Anyone know if it's still around?

It’s still there. Tried to go Thursday for lunch, there was a line waiting to get in at 11:30. There is also a location in New Braunfels loop 337 at hwy 46
