Are you guys seeing any quail on your dove hunts?

significantly more quail in big lake. about the same in south texas

Couldn't believe how many quail we heard Saturday morning teal hunting. We have been seeing a lot but yesterday morning it was a constant sound of quail at dawn from all around. Sure wish the land owner was open to hunting them.

Have heard a lot up in Palo Pinto and Stephens counties again this year Ox. Counts seem to be up according to the Rolling Plains Quail Research Ranch run by Dr. Rollins - great organization with which I am sure you are familiar.

The quail were singing us their song as the sun rose on the 1st, from all over the area.

Flushed a covey of about 20 bobwhites while hunting at Puddin's lease in Woodson last Labor Day weekend. Scared the crap out of me as I wasn't expecting it. They were hidden in amongst the taller sunflowers. They were still there when I stopped by to hunt there last Friday evening on my way to Breckenridge. Only got four doves that evening though. Probably saw 40 doves total but too much space and too few hunters. Most were way out of reach.

Tons in Young County. I would say about the same amount of coveys, just more birds per covey than last year.

Near Woodson opening afternoon. We could hear a covey then it flew into our field, about 20 birds, sure is great to see.
