This bow hunter in Cali is in trouble for tracking a wounded deer into an LA suburb to finish it off. I give him kudos for following up on his miss-hit and then calling the cops. Doubt the tree huggers in The Hollywood legal system are going to be lenient.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

His greatest mistake is bow hunting in Cali.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Exactly right! I'm surprised they even let people hunt there.

I thought the same thing until I went there.

We were staying in Ventura California ( its a beautiful area btw....we drove the Malibu highway...incredible ) and had to run to Dicks sporting goods to grab a few things for a baseball game.

anyway....I was wondering how watered down the sporting goods section was? I walked in and it was wall to wall guns, mounts on the walls, etc. Public hunting brochures everywhere, lots of hunting gear on the racks.

in LA proper or one of the burb's it may be a bit different...but from what I saw hunting was welcomed. one thing I did think was funny/sad was all the restrictions on fish consumption. they have big signs everywhere of the fish you can't eat due to being contaminated.

the hills of northern LA County and Malibu are absolutely gorgeous and look very gamey. It is my understanding that the hunting is not very good due to high mountain lion populations.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
