Well a muzzle loader is not classified a firearm so the NFA does not apply

The last thing I'd want to do is clean out a muzzleloader suppressor that can't be detached...

I'm surprised this hasn't been attempted before. I'm curious to see how this plays out

That's what I was thinking.

Not 50 state legal anymore.

Quote:
Upon launching the Maxim 50, SilencerCo received several immediate legal challenges from authorities and lawyers in the states of New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California. Since we have no desire to place any consumer in a situation where they may get arrested and charged with a felony because their state defines a firearm differently than the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), we have placed orders from those states on hold and are refunding customers pending legal confirmation. We will update our customers as soon as we have multiple source verification.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

And I'm sure the argument against it is a suppressor wouldn't allow authorities to know where the shooter was during a mass shooting......since muzzleloaders are used in mass shootings all the time.

I knew that one of the Marxist states would pick a fight. You'd think they'd have something better to do, like maybe prosecuting real criminals. Oh that's right, the criminals are the victims. It's the law abiding and successful who are the real enemy.

The concept is great, they did their research and found a legal way to have a suppressed (non) firearm .
How ever the hearing protection bill is moving forward, many thinking it will pass.
https://www.nraila.org/articles/20170913/nra-backed-share-act-passes-committee
Passage of the bill would eliminate this guns greatest advantage, no $200 to the feds, and long wait time for background checks.
But it can still be mail ordered with no paperwork.
I would wait an see. A removable suppressor would be better for cleaning and loading

Could you thread the barrel of your muzzleloader and attach a suppressor and go about your shooting?

Yeah, you can thread the barrel and put one on there. The problem is that a detachable suppressor would be NFA-regulated and require the tax stamp. Having it integral to the muzzleloader allows you to avoid that hurdle.
