looking to buy some 62gr TSX in 5.56. Not sure if I should get Barnes vortex or Black Hills. Any of yal have experience with Black hills, good or bad? Ive shot plenty of Vortex ammo and have nothing bad to say.

I've had GREAT luck with their (BH) .223 62gr FMJ New, not remanufactured.

The Barnes Vortex was the most accurate factory load in my Sako M-85 7mm-08.

didn't help much huh, just buy a box of each and have fun.

Black Hills makes some very good ammunition from my experience with it.

Agree with the others for factory ammo it shoots well, or at least what I have tried did. Have shot mostly 223 52gr match which shot very well.

I will add one more note about one particular round they sell. If you use a .223 for varmint hunting the load they sell utilizing the 60gr VMax is the all around best ammo I have seen for that purpose. I have seen lots of coyotes ,bobcats pigs shot with that round as my buddy who I have predator hunted with the last 10 years or so will only shoot that ammo. I never use a .223 for hunting but if I did I would load that bullet.
Just so no one takes it wrong nothing against .223 just too vanilla for me. cool
