I am new to game cameras. I need to monitor ducks and geese on several ponds. NO trees or other structures in site. How difficult would it be to attach securely to a Tee Post
Thank You Robert

There is a product made specifically for that application. We use them but I can't recall the manufacturer. Google "trailcam t-post mount. We've purchased ours at Los Cazadores in Pearsall. You could call and ask them.

I use the t-mate! Made by a guy here on the THF. They are awesome! I have 5-6 set up around the ranch. Check them out in the classified (sometimes discount deals available) or at their website: http://www.gunnyart.comGood to support fellow THF's if you can, and I vouch for the product. Good stuff!

I just use a heavy duty zip tie and strap it to the t-post, as long as you don't have cows it will work.

I just put the post in upside down and secure my cams to the fins of the post. It's worked really well for me. You may need to put a small twig or something behind the edges to make up for the bumps in the post but it works. As long as you don't have livestock messing with it like said above.

I wired a limb to a t post recently and then mounted the cam to the limb. Worked well for having to figure it out on the go.

I'm sure the t-mate is a good product. If you want a cheap alternative I use these t-post brackets. They run about $4 at Tractor Supply. just search "American FarmWorks T-Post Bracket" I then put a 1/4" - 20 bolt in the bottom to hold the camera If you are concerned about movement, I like the last image and put a 90 degree bend at the bottom , then secure it to the t-post with wire. The red shows place to bend and area to wire secure it. or before bend: after bend:

It will stand up to cows or pigs rubbing on it without coming loose and you have the option to lock it to the post.

I have no doubt the T-mate is a superior product.

Iv always used tpost without a mount... just used the strap that it comes with and wrap the post to seat the camera tighter on it.

It's a great idea/design, but my experience is cows can tear anything up. I had to take and wire a 2X6 to the t-post to keep my camera mounted. That and neither of my Proof Cam 2's worked with the the T-Mate without using the strap.
