V-Tac padded for me. Its a 2 point tactical sling but its by far the best I have ever used for hunting.

Only sling to ever put on an AR.

The rifle can cross the chest, or cross the back, and leave the man carrying it hands free. Plus it quickly adjusts length, in a snap.

I will be putting one in flush cups on a bolt action soon. That's how good the sling is.

If you want a regular hunting type sling, just go get one.

regular sling will be fine, push button swivels if you have holes for them.

try and situate it so the charging handle doesn't dig into your back. Why most carry in front.

this is one reason I don't hunt with my AR. But I'm old schoolish

This is the only sling I use on my autos and my cupped bolt gun. I had my wife weave a cool 550 cord "handle" for the release catch so finding it is a lot easier and faster.

A typical hunting sling does not work well on an AR. An AR rides different, especially if you have a 20-30 round mag in. I have a basic AR sling that carries in the front. I have it set where I can still shoulder the rifle and shoot from a slung position. IMO, an AR is meant to be carried in the front. For a right handed shooter and carrying slung in the front, it puts the flat part of the AR up against your body and is the most comfortable way to carry it.

V-tac for me too. All my rifles are slinged across my chest at the ready keeping my hands free for carrying shooting sticks and using binos.

The safari sling is a great choice for bolt guns to carry in the same manner.

First AR sling I had was no different than a sling used on a standard bolt action rifle. The problem with this style sling on a AR is that its nearly impossible to keep the gun vertical on your shoulder. It constantly is wanting to slip backwards and become horizontal.

Next I tried the single point slings. DISASTER!!!! Great slings for standing still but not so much for long walks.

The V-Tac is great for everything from riding on the ATV to walking to a stand location.
