I love CCI Standard Velocity ammo. It groups very well so that is all I buy.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Well, it wasn't the guy at the entry to BPS who asked, and I kid you not, "is that a rifle?" when I took it out of the case! And it also wasn't the guy behind the GUN COUNTER who had to go ask his 'expert' when I inquired about a picatinny rail for it! (The scope was mounted on 2 piece Weavers that I had to hollow out with a dremel tool so my rings would work).

I was definitely relieved to find CCI's shot that well... last time out my best groups came from Lapua Midas + that is 4x more expensive.

I haven't chosen an optic for this yet, for sighting in and checking loads I put a Viper PST 6-24 on it. I'd like to find a decent 3-15 for it but finding one with Mil or MOA reticle (prefer MOA) in a lower price range, $250-300, has proven to be difficult. P_102

pic of rifle? what is it?

I'm headed out today to shoot my Sako Quad Varmint while the barrel on my Barrett cools between test strings. Gotta get it sighted in for 100 yards in case we ever have a rim fire match

SK Rifle Match
SK Standard Plus
Eley Match (Black Box)
Eley Team (Blue Box)

don't have any SV

Buzz, it's a plain Jane Savage Mark II that I picked up for $100. Fiddled with the trigger, floated the bbl and it shoots pretty good! Tried several loads a couple weeks ago, best was Lapua Midas + at $32 per 100! That's why I'm ecstatic about $8 per 100 CCI's shooting pretty much the same!

Sorry about that Jason but Uncle Sugar only gives us retirees so much each month and I don't have Buzz's bank account to switch over to MILS on everything. Next time out I'll bring ya some flowers, (my crappie supply is dwindling). P_102

Buzz, I've got 5-6 boxes of various ammo I probably won't use now....we should get together and share our 'stash' to find what works best for us.

sound good Chris, I have a ton of match loads left over from the benchrest days.

I didn't know mils would work on rim fire but I have gone to inches now, scrapped MOA and Mil's peep

Dang Buzz, thought for sure you'd have one of those 1/8 MOA models!

We need to stop, Jason's gonna break into a rash any minute now! peep

Ribs on the smoker and a giant batch of lasagna sauce simmering... gotta git?

Shot my Sako at 100 yards. .22's are sure weird. I would have a good group going then what I call a
"blooper" I could see the bullet go completely out of the group and this was the high dollar stuff. I'll buy a box of CCI S.V. at the gun show tomorrow and see what they do at 100yds.

sorry its sideways

hammer

I'd get rid of that Sako Buzz. It clearly does not fit you well enough to shoot tiny groups. It probably needs a taller owner. cheers
