Well they were prepared and had a good attitude about the incident. Not everyone carries clot powder and is first aid trained. Kudos to them.

Said the attack happened from 30 feet? They really stumbled across him it seems like or did they spot him and come in for a closer look?

I bowhunted elk in that same area 2 years ago. A local stumbled by my camp and warned me about a huge grizzly up over the main ridge and down into a canyon from me. said nobody was hunting that area lol. I saw several bears on that trip...most were blacks but I thought one with 2 cubs was a grizzly. It was a mile or close to that away from me while I glassed it.
