Now that I'm a little past grinding my teeth over not being drawn again for 18 years for the EXO I applied for, or any of the 5 other GDA apps I put in for ....but did score a GDA close enough to the house I can sleep at home. Wonder if my 15 years worth of LP's will get me drawn for a GDE slot somwhere out of the 4 app's I put in at Honey Creek, Inks Lake/Longhorn Caverns, Lake Mineral Wells for GDE and a GDM at Mason Mtn.

Anybody know for sure when these GDE & GDM Drawings will take place? I assume 1st week of September.

Gun Deer Either Sex and Gun Deer Management. The deadline for applying is Sept 15th so they usually draw the next day, Sept 16th.

duoh...after I looked it up to see if I wanted add to the App List ...then I noticed the deadline date. Too many things going on...and thinking about planning a normal pleasurable activity is my hidey hole.

Anybody ever hunt Muse??? Or the Runnels County PLE near Ballinger?

Looking at adding a few more App's. Not gonna go as far as San Angelo & surprised at GuadRvr SP not offering a GDE this year, but I am already Paid on an App for Honey Creek. About 4 hours drive time from Dogwood City is my limit these days.

My son did a youth anterless/spike hunt at Muse last year. Great place, great staff and great blinds! My son shot a doe the first evening and 220 pound hog the next morning. There are quite a few deer in that area. I wouldn't think that there would necessarily be big bucks in that region though. Hope this helps.

My PLE is still hanging on with a 2nd Draw status at 10am Tuesday the 5th...I hate the suspense...prolly oughta put in for Muse and whatever else I can find with in drive time reach, and call it GTG for the year and badger my in laws some more for a place to fill the freezer.

I got extremely lucky and drew the Archery deer at Choke Canyon-North Shore the first week in January. Will be coming down from Idaho to escape winter! I know its greedy, but hoping for the Gun deer permit there the very next week also. If I am unsuccessful with my bow, maybe I could use what I learn to reach out and touch one on the same trip.

Congratulations Blank. Be careful on the drive down. Do you have your Oryx mount back yet?
