Yep, possibly coyote but they usually don't miss if they get that close

I had an adult doe around the house a couple months ago and it had the same type injury in the same area. I assumed it
was from jumping a fence. She is still around and it healed nicely.

I've killed a lot with that same scar/wound. High probability it's the fence.

Barbwire, if a coyote had made that wound, it would not be there for the photo.
