I was just watching a nice young six point in the side yard, when it occurred to me that I haven't seen even one spike buck or cull buck so far this year. So...what does that mean, beyond the obvious? Has a wet year brought better nutrition, so bucks have nicer antlers? What else could it be?

They have a lot to eat right now and are not hitting my feeder much at all. Just have a couple of small bucks on camera.
We've gotten good rains so that has a lot to do with it.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

well...probably true that I haven't seen the spikes yet. For sure though that I have many more deer than in the past, and more young bucks with promising racks and futures.
I just put the game cameras out and can't wait to see what shows up at the feeders.
