K-1 - curious on bore life with the 17 Rem? Custom? Specs? Thanks.

P-07 - I have been a 6.5 fan and user since early 90s....hard to find a bad one, but I lean on the short action non mags for my uses. Sorry you had a disappointing rifle, I have too with many, including several 700s despite their reputation. A fellow could do far worse than own an accurate 223 and 6.5mm. I've owned 221s and 222s that all bugholed. Never did have a 223 shoot much better than say .6 to .7 MOA. Always speculated the shorter neck was the culprit but those OEM rifles, Winchester, Rem, and I believe a Howa may not have been built like say a Sako/Tikka or custom. Every rifle is unto itself no doubt, ammo preference and potential.

My go to 22LR is a CZ 455 Training rifle, dead accurate and a super smooth action, got it on sale at Cabelas for $275 a while back and it's one of the few guns that I put in the in the "permanent" collection

Don't have any experience with mag or 17 though
