I've been hunting on my Uncle's ranch about 9 miles north of Bronte for the past 8 years now. We have always had PLENTY of deer but getting bucks to reach maturity is tough with all of the pressure from hunters in the area. If you are after horns then you will probably be disappointed in that area but you might get lucky. We run plenty of cameras on over 400 acres and see very few mature or shooter bucks typically. But if you enjoy the opportunity to shoot plenty of deer then you won't be disappointed in that area. Also, we usually have a pretty good turkey population where we are and the hogs haven't taken over yet but have started to show up the past few years in small numbers.

Should see lots of deer in that area. Like mentioned above this probably isn't a trophy lease as far as big mature bucks. Depending on the area and surrounding hunters you might see some get into the 120's but that is upper class with most around 100-115 range.

Good luck.

Plenty of deer in the area. Trophies will depend on you and your neighbors. If you are looking to fill the freezer, it is a good area to that.

This...I hunt southwest of there and there are definitely good numbers but a trophy, if you use inches as a yardstick will most likely be in the mid 120s and not because the area won't produce them but as stated above there's just not a lot of management minded hunters in the area. We got a nice 3 year old 10 this year on camera and he will not make it through the year unfortunately unless he goes nocturnal becaiuse the first hunter that sees him is going to put him down. I really like the lease I'm on and the only thing that gives me heartburn is that although we talk about management it's all out the window once the season starts. And frankly with the out of state hunters that come in each year on the back side of our lease filling all their tags...there simply isn't any management program that will really really work. A singular low fence lease is dependent of all the leases around it to agree to management criteria if you really want to grow big antlered bucks. And to do this these hunters have to be willing to shell out their money for at least three years while taking only culls and does before they will even begin to be able to take 140-150 class bucks...and perhaps a 160. Not many will sacrifice this long.
