The Moore county 4-H had our membership drive kick off tonight. I lost track as to how many youth came through our shooting and hunting booth, but I will bet it was 10 or more that Joined, a good portion of which are 8 - 9 Year old. Several have never touched a gun, several only BB guns. After a couple of basic fire arm training meetings we will kick off with a hunter ed course, which will be attended by several inexperienced parents as well. In addition we picked up a few experienced adults willing to help with the program. I have 5 hunts planned for the group through the year and open to more as opportunities become available. Looks like it's going to be a cool year.

Sounds like a worthwhile program, I always hear people on this forum praise anyone helping kids begin shooting/hunting so I'm certain there will be a lot of support.

Awesome program and hats off to you Robert - a lotta work but the rewards for the kiddos are immense! I hope anybody reading and nearby you will help/support: - this touches not only kiddos but whole families - needed, for the future of the sport AND our country!  Doing the same, over in Cooke Co!
