No more than 2 hours for dove, quail require a bit more driving.

Dove 20 minutes Quail 10 minutes
I'd drive as far as I had to if I didn't have something here locally.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

About 4 hrs.
Here in NE Texas, its hit or miss and I tried a couple of the outfitters in this part of the country with very lackluster results after being told they had birds. I'd rather drive west and know I have good shooting than chance it in this part of the state.

This weekend...I will be driving from Flower Mound to Archer City (117 miles) to hunt Friday morning with my 8 year old son. He is over the moon excited. The. We will both drive to Carthage (300 miles) for my 17 year old son's first football game. Then Saturday we will head to Bee County (375 miles) to check on our ranch house and my deer stands. Then Monday make the 360 mile drive home on Monday. That a little over 800 miles....anyone want to go????
