makes the gun WAY louder and creates more flash, really bad for low light, and if you had to use it really close range, like fending off a guy with your left hand with the gun below your face, that is not going to be fun.
I have done the latter in classes and it is bad enough with a normal barrel. this

I have done the latter in classes and it is bad enough with a normal barrel. In addition to the above and when you try it at night, remember there is an excellent chance you will not have time or think about ear plugs and safety glasses. You should check your fire exits, because you will be subjecting your ceiling and hallway to some excessive sparkles. Fire a couple of rounds from the old tool shed...

Hell I always planned to use my Open pistol or 3 gun AR if I needed to do some HD. May as well give myself every advantage over the bad guy(s).

I think I would be more inclined to get something more like a K frame as it would be better for shooting rapid fire. The smaller/lighter framed guns can be tough to hold a smaller group using rapid fire. Any K framed gun with a 3 or 4 inch barrel would suit the purposes of a house gun much better. Just my thoughts....to each his own.
