I am probably the worst duck hunter but am fortunate to know some really good ones (Matt and Todd). On the last Saturday of the season Matt and I hunted in the morning and had several flocks appear at the same time. Some teal came in first and we ended up with one teal. On the way back we shot another teal and a wounded spoonbill that we flushed. We were going to call it ahunt when we decided to check out one last spot. We flushed out about 20 teal so decided to grab four decoys and set up. Over the course of the hour we ended up shooting 8 more teal and were each one short of our limit when a drake pintail flew by. Two shots later and my limit was done. A few minutes later Matt finished his with a gadwall. We had killed nine ducks between 11 and noon. It was an awesome day.
I have never mounted a duck and with the pintail limits decreasing, I decided to mount this one to memorialize that hunt. I took him to Jeremy and decided on a pedestal mount to show all angles of the duck. The mount was fantastic.
Thanks to Matt for a great hunt and Jeremy for a great mount!
