I am building a 4x6 box blind and want to sound proof it. I am think8ng about 1.5" egg creat foam and have 2 questions. Approximately how much will I need and should expect to budget. Can I get by not covering all the wall surface? Also considering carpet pad and any alternative material.

Sounds like overkill, unless you're wanting insulation value as well.
Carpet and pad on the floor, or double layer of carpet. If it still sounds like a drum when you drop something, consider foam insulation board on the floor from underneath, or rubber horse mats inside.
Carpet half way up the walls.
Get a chair that doesn't squeak.

Just remember that insects/wasps, rats and what ever else that can get into the blind will love what ever you put in there.

Sounds like you are gonna have the most bug infested, mouse chewed and peed on, stinking stand on the
lease.

Maybe dyna mat or a similar product they use for speaker installs. Might smell for a bit and it's messy

Buy some Bifen XTS to kill all the critters that will inhabit the sound proofing material. I use 1/2in foam boards on the bottom half, I liquid nail it to the wall and paint black.

Thanks. That sounds like what i will try. It will be a couple weeks till we are at that point.

We stapled office carpet squares to the walls in our blinds. No issues with bugs or pests of any kind. Get them from the Habitat for Humanity Re Store. You could probably outfit an entire blind from that place.

Used the horse stall mats from Tractor Supply on the floor. Really like it a lot. It is hard enough to roll around in an office chair yet if you drop a cartridge... you hardly hear it. They are nice and thick and really help deaden the sound. They are pretty heavy so cut to fit and no need to glue them to the floor. For my 4x6 I spent $40.

Not if the stand is built right! I always carpet my blind with padding beneath the carpet so that my office chair doesn't make noise when I roll it around in there. I also carpet the sides, up to the windows, to dampen the sound in case I accidentally bump it which I do from time to time. And the carpet also works as insulation in the cold. I've never needed a heater, at least not yet, because after 30 min or so it tends to warm up a little.
