I use the same oil as the air force uses on the F22 Raptor and if your not using you know nothing about weapons lubing.

If you have a NiBo BCG then you dont have to lube it as much as you think. Wet the BCG with ANY type of lubricant after you clean it and be done with it if it is a Ni BO. It wont need much lube.

If it is not a Ni BO BCG then I would lube up your BCG really well before each range session and maybe even lube it up once or twice while at the range. Typically when I am at the range I will just give a few squirts of Ballistol directly on the BCG as needed.

Doesnt matter what type of oil as long as you just keep it wet and clean.

Does this apply to piston AR the same as DI AR?

I would think not, due to mechanics. But I've by owned, or shot, a piston driven AR suppressed.

^^^^THIS^^^^

When I finish a build, I give it a good douche.
I let it drool out of seams, pin locations, etc. as it's designed to penetrate.
Wipe down exterior, run a bore snake thru barrel after this and shoot it to break it in.
CLP and shoot it....
CLP and shoot it MORE....
I do perform a good disassembly and cleaning after a few hundred rounds, then just CLP and shoot it!
