I just bought a Remington 700 SS 5R in 308 and it has a 1/11.25 twist. I've read that the sierra match king 175 is very popular in this gun but wanted to ask around before I bought 200 rounds of it. I know I need to buy a few different brands and different grains but with this newborn baby my range time is going to be limited. Looking to shoot under 500 yards, mainly coyotes, deer, hogs and target shooting

Federal Gold Medal Match 168 SMK is your best bet for high quality factory ammo for target shooting. I do not have a good answer for hunting purposes.

Chad is one source. Federal GMM is a standard that shoots well for factory ammo in most 308s. Australian Outback ammunition is one I have been hearing good things about and is loaded with Sierra 168gr match bullets and another loading in 165gr Sierra Gamekings

I'll give another recommendation for that. I shot a few hundred of the 168gr Amax bulk when i first got my 308 barrel. It was consistent and very affordable. Wasn't the most accurate off the shelf ammo for me, but it was by far the cheapest and what i deemed to be the best value. Did better in my particular rifle than the most affordable "good factory ammo," the Federal gold match and hornady match series.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I sent Chad a PM I seen his ad this morning and thought it may not be bad to try that route. Just trying to find the time. I bet his stuff is a lot more consistent than factory ammo as well

I have this same rifle. Hornady SST, 165 gr. Accurate and a hammer. Drops everything I've shot with it. Very good, accurate hunting bullet.

Chad's Reloads no doubt are great and very affordable. Also try Federal Gold Medal Match 168gr and 175gr, and Hornady 178gr BTHP Match. For hunting the Federal Fusion is my go to.
