In all my years of hunting rattlers I've yet to see one, we just don't have them this far west.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Never seen one in the wild either, but they do appear to be the most photogenic of all the rattlers in Texas.

I got a few pics of them around here, none I can show. They are alive and well in my part of the world. They will get your attention when you find them. They are right up there with the prairie and massauga when it comes to being aggressive. Give them some distance.

Beautiful snakes....those and indigos are my favorite Texas snakes.....both are protected by the state and Feds....very kool animals.....
