Essentials? I would say-a gun and a box of shells. No shell vest, no water, no boots, no camo, just the essentials.

In the field I bring shotgun, shells, bird bag, seat/cooler, mojos, decoys, gun rest (homemade, so I dont always have to be holding it) speaker, and license. Now I also bring a small grill, charcoal, seasonings, trashbags, ziplock bags with marker, scissors and a water container but I keep those in the vehicle. It has taken me a few years of tweaking to make it all in one trip.

I try to go with as little as possible.

The more items I come in, the more items I have to carry out.

https://www.hunters-edge.com/product/mule-realtree-xtra-camo/ Now this is one heck of a setup. I won't be buying it, but it is one heck of a good idea. It sure would be a lot easier toting all the crap I do into the field.

Might consider adding a hunting license to those essentials as well. Maybe a hip certification and a hunter safety card too
