My T3 lite 7mm-08 action is smooth as silk and very accurate but the feeding is giving me the blues. I put a B&C Medalist sporter stock on it as soon as I bought it so I don't have anything "before the stock" to compare it to but it will not feed after the first round in the chamber is fired. It hangs up 1/2 way. Anyone know if this is common? Hate to order a 50 dollar magazine from Beretta.

If the mag is a steel mag you can adjust the lips to align bullet to feed straight into chamber .

I took it apart ( the magazine )and straightened the spring bar a little hoping it just needed more tension but that didn't help.

Are you using factory or reloads?
Over all length, both to long or short, combined with bullet shape can effect feeding.
If factory I would try a different bullet or brand and see how it works.

I would think Tika would not mass produce a magazine that would not feed.
Contact the service center, tell them your story, they should have a solution, maybe a warranty magazine.

Wonder if all is right with the B&C stock. If you still have the factory stock drop it in that and if it feeds well call B&C. If something is a little off with the magazine well and attachment it can cause feeding problems. That is if still using the Tikka magazines

Maybe borrow a mag from an LGS, see if the same thing happens?

This is what I would do. Never heard of a Tikka feeding issue with the factory stock. If it feeds good with that, you know the issue is something with the B&C.

Why you got to go and bring common sense into the equation? One of those " duhhh why didn't I think of that" moments. I'll try that this evening and report back. Thank-you.

First, the factory rifle is tuned to feed with the factory magazine. As soon as you change to a different stock, it can easily change up the relationship between the mag, mag height, and how it feeds. So, you need to adjust the height of the bottom metal to get it to cycle properly. If you are using the factory Tikka mag, it's not a mag problem. It's a magazine height problem. You will have to adjust this.

Recently, I did a parts build 308 Win based on a Rem 700 action. I had a Manners stock that was bedded with a Surgeon 591 action. When I built the rifle on a Rem 700, the magazine hit the bottom of the bolt and was rubbing with hard contact. I installed some washers between the bottom metal and the stock. This gave the clearance I needed for it to cycle properly. Problem solved.

My point is, the minute you add a new stock (or even a new magazine), you have to adjust the bottom metal or the magazine to feed with the new set up. It's gunsmith 101 kind of stuff.

Like said before I think it's the stock with the magazine. I have 2 tikka t3 lites and both are great

And, B&C stocks are not the most accurate on their inletting. Most gunsmiths plan for a little extra time (more labor cost) to adjust these stocks to make them feed and work properly. The several rifles I have built with B&C stocks were just like this. They are not a drop in kind of stock and expect everything to work just right.

Well, so much for the easy way out. I'll check it with the old stock and see if it cycles. Need to get in touch with you anyway about the 5 rounds of different ammo deal you posted. Was trying to wait and see if I'm going to change scopes.
