I'm always amazed at the number of landowners, lessees and quail enthusiasts who will stand in 100 degree heat in west Texas to learn about quail management. Especially when they could have called me and we could have discussed quail management in the shade, while sipping a glass of sweet tea. It was smoking hot yesterday afternoon.

My hat is off to them.

I'm here as well!

Looks like some of them are hunting quail with their blaze orange hunting shirts on.

Those were guys like me, sweating profusely and praying for clouds.

If you wear a long sleeve, blaze orange shirt to an outdoor quail symposium during the Texas summer, my hunch is that you don't shoot many quail, you're just trying to look like you do.

Those were Quail Masters members. They were present to help with the educational exercises. The long sleeved orange hunting shirts were a "uniform" of sorts so that they could be identified.

Okay, I'll let it slide this time. But that's torcherous to have them wear long sleeves.
