I was at the local academy getting a few things and as I walked by the wader aisle it hit me...why not get those breathable fishing waders (less than a $100) that you also need a wader shoe/boot for. So I gets to thinking...why not those waders and a pair of crocs? Anyone used their crocs with those types of waders? Hell I hate to get another pair shoe or boots if crocs will work.
Our should I just get the $200+ breathable waders at the duck store?

I think Crocs would get stuck in the mud and come off your foot.
I almost never wear waders for early teal. Just fishin' shorts and some wading shoes, water is warm. If you need to wear some, you can get hip waders pretty cheap.

I hunt in shorts and mud boots. That's all you need besides bug spray.

I prefer the black zip-up bay fishing shoes with mine.
I don't think Crocs would stay on in the mud I hunt in. Maybe if you were hunting somewhere with some heavy vegetation.

I'm a wuss and still like to wear waders when I'm wallowing in early teal muck. Hard to beat some breathable fly fishing waders. In fact, I wear them all season. So comfortable and so much easier to walk in.

I believe BDB is talking about stocking foot waders, in which case I think lace up cheap sneakers, lite ones, would work fine. Crocs is not a good idea.

Academy has some cheap Vinyl waders for <$10 (YES TEN). Get those and some old tennis shoes you have laying around and You will be Good to Go. Waders in Sept. Help keep the Skeeters/Chiggers off of you!
