when looking to buy a single hog trap, what should I be looking at? Welding, trap door, material etc... I want a decent one for pops. I want one that is simple. He is retired and does not bend that well.

We have ones made by monarch that are modular. One person can move it since each side and the roof are individual pieces. Well built traps.

I'd be a little wary about some of the ones sold commercially. I have seen some of them that are too small, and just use a rooting door that isn't very effective in my experience. Panels should be welded on the inside to add more strength when hogs make a run at them from inside.

Defiantly welded on the inside. I have a guillotine gate with a trip bar at the back, they work well but i do have to repair them from time to time.

Here is one of the modular monarchs I have. Custom rigged a trip wire at the back.
