I'd like to watch one get after some of the bee hives on our lease.

No Season. They are a protected species in Texas. That's right. Big time penalties for shooting one. Not true for a mountain lion, so I see how some people could be tripped up over the whole thing. Especially if you've sent any time in areas where black bears are a dime a dozen.

That is cool, but a serious nuisance. You have two of the most destructive animals for feeders. Those big aoudads will get to fighting under your feeder and collapse the feeder legs/knock the feeders over. Been there, done that. Yep, grumpy sheep and a 200 pound coon. What could possibly go wrong?

After seeing what some of the bears in Ruidoso have done, I am surprised that the feeder is in as good a shape as it is. They literally tore the hell out of an enclosed porch to get to the dog food on it.

They literally tore the hell out of an enclosed porch How did you get hell in an enclosed porch? I'd pay to see that.

I really believe the eliminator plate saved me a feeder. I think he shook, saw no corn, and decided it was empty.
Our neighbors tripod winch feeder wasn't so lucky

Our neighbors tripod winch feeder wasn't so lucky If there is corn in the feeder he can smell it. He'll be back.

Looks like their range is extending back into texas. Interesting, maybe one day we will need bear bells when hiking west texas.
