Never shingled anything, thoughts on shingles over osb for a roof?????

Thinking about finding roofing crew in my neighborhood and offering cash to do it on site.....

Its really simple but next time I do the roof on my blind ill be using sheet metal

DON'T use bare or even painted OSB for roofing. It will soak up water like a sponge unless you cover it with those shingles, a metal roof, etc. If use corrugated metal roofing over anything, you will need to seal the open arches with something like expanding foam to keep out wasps, etc.

I have some metal roofing you can have...

I have metal on a couple of blinds, gets loud. Rain, acorns, etc. just thinking of something different.

Life expectancy of sob topped with shingles?

Or plywood topped with shingles.

I would think they would last as long as the ones on your house, prob longer than the blind will last.

OSB, Make sure you install with the coated side up, tar paper then shingles, metal drip edge around the edges before the tar paper.
Or you could do rolled roofing also.

Rolled roofing, we have some of that lying around at deer camp.

roll roofing is a last resort

Thirty pound felt goes on first. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Leave a healthy overlap. Shingles go on the same way, bottom to top. Overlap is marked on shingles usually. A coil gun filled with roofing nails is your friend.

Get the osb covered quickly.

Double layer of rolled roofing works fine.

Could use what they call "Ice and water shield" for underlayment, comes in a roll self sealing nail holes. U-tube for roll roofing and shingle install.

I've converted all mine to cheap corrugated sheet metal, can buy in various pre-cut lengths from the box stores. It would be LOUD without having the plywood under it.
