You guys know the story on the steel the Moore Makers are made out of. Not stainless. I gifted a nice trapper to my father in law for Christmas this last year. He loves it and carries it in his pocket every day. I for got to tell him to keep the knife oiled and it has started to rust. Two things : A.) what is the best way to clean up the knife (remove the rust) up without staining the steel? and B.) what is the best type of oil to use on the blade to keep it looking nice?

I've always used steel wool (very fine).....and gun oil.

I use Loctite Rust Dissolver and never oil a blade.
