I found an older Remington, single shot, no magazine, .22 a few years ago in a gun shop in Galveston. Light rusting on barrel but still a shooter. I plan on introducing it to my son when he understands the consequences of his actions. I'm guessing around 7-8 y/o. I'm will start him off with a BB gun at 4/5 y/o.

Hey Robbie my daughters left handed. When the time comes to hunt deer get a left handed Browning Micro Midas, Awesome gun.

I stared my daughter around 8 when she showed interest, she never looked back

How old are they when they are Indian Princess?? This when I gave my daughter a Daisy Red Rider BB gun. Indian Princess had a Turkey Shoot at South Fork ranch and my daughter came in first, two years in a row, beating all the boys. I was a proud dad but aren't we all

So this is the age she started. I remember drawing a picture of what the sight picture should look like and where to hold on the bull's-eye and squeeze the trigger which is about 20# on the red Rider. great times!!!

Started my daughter out at 6 with a Ruger Charger topped off with a red dot. No stock or eye relief problems. Single shot till she got the hang of it. I also drilled out the grip and installed a leveling leg so she didn't have to hold it.

Every kid is different.

My daughter was shooting my .22mag and .17 at 4 and she shot a 20ga at 7. My son is 5 and is still working with the pellet gun. His attention span is a little shorter than his sisters

I started my oldest daughter out on my .22 rifle. Then she moved on to a break down single shot 243. Just last year she wanted to start dove hunting with me so I bought her a 20 gauge. Now her and her mother started shooting the 9mm I bought for them. I think every kid is different. My dad started me out on a 30-06 and a 12 gauge when I was a youngin'. God gave me daughters only. Done trying maybe...I don't think I'm capable of having boys lol. Either way, I'm still glad my oldest daughter loves the outdoors. I don't even have to ask her.

We started out shooting dad's pellet gun then 22 whenever. When we turned 8 we got our own personal pellet rifle we could use by ourself and shortly after a 22.

Personally started off with a pellet gun I see no need to make the first 22 a single shot to teach on, we already learned that with a single shot pump pellet gun. For me 22 was one and done with a Ruger 10/22 delux and its still a sweet little gun to this day.
