First day really shooting the new centerpoint 370 sniper. I put a truglo red dot on it that I had lying around. It came with a 4x fixed power scope, but I felt like it was too much scope for 20-30 yard shots.

Once I got the scope dialed in at 10 yards, I moved to 20 yards. Every 3 shot group was consistently right about 3". I believe I shot 6 groups. Every group looked exactly like these 2.

I believe all 18 arrows I shot were quality shots, and all would have found vitals on a white tail. But what I'm wondering is, is it likely that buying higher quality bolts will lead to tighter groups? I'm using the no name bolts that came with the crossbow. My broadheads are muzzy trocar 100gr so I'm confident those are consistent. So should I get some new bolts? Or is a group that size acceptable to most of you who hunt with crossbows?

Also, other than waxing the flight rail ever 10 shots, any other maintenance I need to remember?

It's up to you, but I wouldn't fix what isn't broke. Those are kill shots all day long, especially with the Muzzy's! As far as maintenance, anywhere the string slides on the bow, wax it! Periodically check for loose bolts and screws also. Good luck!

Wax the string also. There is an oil rail lube you can get that is good for 20+ shots on some rails 30 or more.

Bolts, those are killers at that distance for sure, if you want more accuracy try Carbon Express pile drivers or Parker Redhot, weight forward bolts that are heavier than the center point bolts. I find a heavier bolt often times will be slower but more accurate. Heavier bolt does slow the flight down a little but also helps quieten the shot a little.

I shoot a Parker and their Red Hot bolts are very accurate from it. Those with 125gr G5 Montecs I shot to each of the little dots in the 18--1 target face you are shooting and shoot to different dots out to 70 yards and just about all the time the bolt is in that dot when shooting from a good rest. With their standard Parker bolts it is more like 54 to 5 inch groups at 70 yards. So yes bolts can make a difference

Shoot them at 30 and 40 before you go spend money on different broadheads and shafts. See how the groupings change, even if you don't plan to hunt at those ranges, sometimes you can get a better idea of what is happening. If its the arrows, broadheads, or the shooter.

At 25 I am getting 1-2" groupings with my Barnett Penetrator(funny name) I know. Check fletchings, wax/lube rail, match recommended bolt weights and beyond all continue practicing. You will have those groupings tighter for sure.

Thats some deep penetration. I would use some luminocks to find my arrows.

Just shot my new Centerpoint 370 sniper in today. Sighted it in using a Caldwell DeadShot FieldPod at 15 yards. That's all I can shoot in my backyard. Had to shoot a different dots to keep from tearing the arrows up. It's very accurate with a good rest.

My question is can you sight it in using the 10 yard ring at twenty yards or will it throw all the other yardage rings off?
Thanks

Sight it in for the yardage recomended in the scope manual abd the rings will be almost exactly on ten yard increments

Thanks kmon1.
Shot it this evening at 20 yards with Carbon Express Maxima 20" bolts and 100 grain field points. The accuracy is great. Wouldn't dare shoot at the same dot with multiple arrows. It's shooting quarter size groups off a rest. I'm impressed!!
