Made 2 of these feeders this summer that will hold 35 bags each and have been curious to see how they performed. On our first run, we only loaded them with 20 bags each just to test them out. Have a motor on one end and a 4 port drop tube on the other. The hope was that we could fill them and they would last for 6 or 7 months thus saving us time and gas money not having to drive 4 hours to fill feeders every month.....They were emptied in 4 weeks(at least the end with the drop tube was). My camera batteries went dead in about 2-1/2 weeks from all the pics. I may go broke before season gets here but we shouldn't have any trouble shooting some does.

Gonna have to go timer only or coons will keep it empty.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I don't have many pics of coons at all....at least for the first few weeks...only 1 or 2 here and there. Who knows what mayhem ensured after the batteries on the camera (both cameras) went dead. It's either a lot of deer, the coons showed up in mass or a herd of axis moved in and cleaned them out. The ground inside one of the pens (not the one in the pic) was pulverized. Going back out this weekend and mounting a camera with a solar charger and refilling both feeders. I'm also going to close off 2 ports on each drop tube and see if that helps. I need to get to the bottom of this....quick.

Just those 5 deer in the picture will eat 15 lbs a day combined. If they eat there every day that's 450 lbs per month just with 5 deer. If you have 10 deer eating every day that's 900 lbs per month at 3 lbs per deer.

Ours kill about 600lb per month per feeder. It is a challenge to keep feed in them this time of the year.

One ton/month per feeder on our place, when they're hammering it.

How are you combatting feed staying in the bottom of your square feeder? Did you cut out top and place funnels and replace top?
Free feed 24/7 was not in my budget so we added "TheHammer.com" to our tubes on our 1500# protein feeders. You set the times for the feeder ports to open allowing feed to drop and feel and then can set close time. Able to set multiple times for open/closing. Works great so far I'm pleased.

I just looked this product up. It's a pretty cool idea.

What a great idea....going to have seriously consider that drop tube motor. Yes, the feed was piled up a bit in the corners but not too bad.....I'll have to deal with that each time I fill it....not sure what I'm going to do yet but I'll figure something out this weekend. This is my first re-fill so figuring it out as I go.
