Me and a buddy have a small place 150 acres, mostly wooded with cabin. The cabin we run off generator and no water.
Owner tells me he has an additional 250 acres, that's a mix of open and wooded, very nice property. We took it as well.
Question, there is an old barn on the new property and I noticed electricity pole and meter. How do I get the electricity hooked up and in my name, so the owner is not bothered.
I also noticed a well, what should I be looking for as far as water. Nothing I would drink, just to wash up and maybe move a trailer over there next year...
Thanks

call the electric provider - they will tel you how tow proceed
see if the pump in the well is working once you get electricity and then see if it smells and looks ok - if it does then showing with it
You can't fix stupid

Depending on the well type it may take a little time and money to get it going. Well worth IMO

On the new place with the pole, I would call the landowner first and get permission to have the electricity. Then call the electric provider - they will tell you how to proceed Once you have called and opened an account in your name, the electric company will provide you electricity to the meter, you're responsible for anything past that. I went through this process it was easy. I was also fortunate that there was an extra pole and additional wire so I was able to place a pole and outlet where I wanted my trailer and have a great neighbor who did all of the skilled work for me. Good luck on your new place, sounds like a nice setup
