There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Yeah, don't listen to me. I'm just an idiot.
Lol. Duckbill that was funny! The dude up top has already taken lots of bone before this deer, both mule and whitetail.

Sonofagun! I'd like to see all them take off running at once. There would be a dust cloud around that feeder I bet.

Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

What an opportunity for a guy with a young dog to learn how to deal with runners from the git go.

That amount of blue quail running out from under points going willy nilly can make an old dog come unwound. Two things for sure though, it looks like it would be a hell of a good time and by the end of season the dog would learn to hold its water.

Those blues were great fun until I hit about 45. Now I would need a 4 wheeler to stay up with them.

I moved back to the DFW area for the second time in 2005. Hunted quail on leases, around Spur on the Matador Ranch, near Archer City and now for a few years not far from Jayton. In those seasons I saw one covey of Blues. They were moving down a ranch road in front of my mule early one morning, two years ago. Kept thinking they were all hens, never saw a white throat. They ran out in a pasture and that was it my only blue contact.

I would much rather have bobs but blues are better than nothing. Just have to hunt them differently.

I said don't shoot them while they are running on the ground. He replied," I'm not. I'm going to wait until they stop."

I like your style +1 The OP is an amazing trail cam pic. We haven't had much success on our deer lease, but we're deer hunters trying to "switch hit" when we see 'em. They are entertaining to watch from a deer blind though. Any one of you aficionados ever done the dune buggy "surround 'em" routine that I've heard about? Sounds pretty wild (and dangerous) and I hope alcohol is reserved until after the scatter guns are put away.
