Started mowing Dove fields this week. Started a bit early due to some things that have come up in the next couple of weeks. Man saw a lot of Doves this afternoon.
Plan is to finishing mowing Friday and spend Saturday and Sunday running the disc over some of the lanes I mowed. Anyone else mowing this week.

I bet I try to get away and visit late season again Stompy. After they have been shot at a bunch they fly like kamikaze pilots. The windy the better. Makes for great fun!

One of my laminated mower tires broke, replaced that ($195) now my mower clutch is slipping on the middle mower, tightened that back up and hopefully that's all that will go wrong this year. About 150 acres mowed so far and another 100 to go.
Prairie Falcons are having a field day on the field rats. I have about 25-30 Falcons following the tractor around. Man that's fun watching them catch them rats, saw one flying off with a snake. Also seeing quite a bit of Quail in the fields. Saw 3 Coyotes and one big azz Boar yesterday.

It is AMZING what a fresh cut sunflower field will do to the doves. It's like the Whitetail Rut.

More Whitewings than I have ever seen. Hopefully they stick around for opener, usually most are gone by opener. Maybe this is the year they stay.

The 35 acre house field and I'm done mowing. Then a couple of days running the disc and I'll be ready for Dove season.
Oh yea, lost a wheel bearing on the mower so I guess I'm not done with by bad luck for this year.

 Had a bunch of Prarie Falcons hanging out with me yesterday. Almost had to stop for this guy, he didn't want to move.
