I have a lightweight hunting rifle built by Horizon Firearms. I've had a rifle built by Derrick and co. in the past, and it was an excellent rifle. This one is no exception. I traded with another THF member for this rifle a few weeks ago, in hopes that my wife would like it and keep it for herself. Turns out she's spoiled to shooting my SBR she steals from me, and wants to keep using that instead.

Blueprinted 700 action with BDL bottom metal. 23" spiral fluted Benchmark barrel, threaded 5/8x24 w/ a thread protector. It's a sporter profile barrel, .68" at the muzzle. Lightweight. It's not a range gun, but it'll shoot a cold bore 3-shot group well under .5moa, with a variety of factory ammo. All metal coated in tan and OD green. Bedded into an HS Precision stock. Round count is ~100 or so. I THINK it's got a 40x trigger installed. Jewell trigger comes with it depending on the deal.

Rifle is in Spring, Tx. I get around the Houston area quite a bit, and willing to drive a little bit for a FTF transaction too.
$1,300 for complete rifle with a Jewell. $1,000 for the barreled action w/ Rem. trigger, $1,200 for barreled action with the Jewell trigger.

Currently wearing a SWFA SS 16x in mils, in a set of Vortex branded Seekins precision rings. Optic can be left on for an additional $350.

forgot to mention, rifle weighs 8.8 pounds with the scope, rings, and weaver base.

cleaned the barrel, shot two fouler shots, followed by the 3-shot group bottom left. Ammo was Freedom Munitions remanufactured 178 A-max:

I know that 308 is not a notorious barrel burner, but any idea on the round count?

I have had several trade offers roll in for other rifles. I am primarily looking for cash, and I think this is a steal for someone who knows what they're looking at. As far as trades, I'm rifle rich and optics poor, so I'd be willing to trade for some higher-quality optics. for example, Nightforce NXS 3-5-50, 5.5-20, SHV F1, or Bushnell illuminated DMR II, LHRS, LRTS

Happy someone got a great deal on a nice rifle. This may have been the best buy of the year, price for value. This quality of gun with known maker and work done and ready to shoot with no wait, heck of a deal... Factory box guns cost more.
