I hunt a square shaped wheat field. Deer come in from the woods around the edges to eat the wheat.

Am I crazy to put a tripod stand in the middle of the field? I was thinking it would be nice to be able to shoot in any direction. My longest shot in that case would be around 350 in any direction.

What do y'all think? Middle of the field or pick a corner for the back drop and coverage?

If they ever spot you walking to and getting in this stand, you'll be toast. I'd walk the field edge looking for the most beaten down trail, put the stand 150 yards northeast of it and roll the dice.

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.

Generally I agree with Erathkid on this but I do have a stand out in the middle. Have good luck there mostly but I try to get in the stand while it is dark and leave when there is no obvious activity.

Yeah I would definitely get in there early
I am just thinking, if it's a 360 stand, it would be nice to be able to shoot in any direction.
