Pretty much sums it up. And definitely higher end items are hard to move here.

Definitely a buyers market......

It sure doesn't seem like prices reflect that. I am constantly seeing used guns with little to no collector value priced at or above new prices. I don't know if they are getting those prices but I'm sure not paying it.

Sellers don't want to accept that their guns have gone down in value from the "rush" a couple years ago....that's why they don't sell....over priced for the current market...

Seller can ask anything they want but the item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Sellers should not get their panties in wad if someone makes an offer lower than what their asking. If you paid a $1,000 for a gun 2 years ago then you can expect to get roughly 45% if selling to a shop and 65% if selling to a private party. The firearms industry / market is beyond saturated.

I think some guys just look the ongoing Gunbroker auctions and assume the seller is going to get his price. As they used to say in the USSR, nyet, nyet, NYET! COMPLETED auctions where items actually did sell is where you find out what an item might be worth.

AR market is awful. Bolt gun market isn't as bad, especially for low/medium priced guns.

It's less worrisome if you never sell any. It's much easier to talk oneself into keeping one than it is to selling it.

Those are classic guns. Anything like that will actually gain in value overtime.
But buying the latest cool gun is different story....6 month later, a new version is out and your 1st gen gun takes a big hit.

That's true Kevin. Anything that is at risk of being banned by democrats was significantly more expensive this time last year than it is now. Most of the rest of the market is pretty normal since then.

Tons of new pistols in the $300-550 range. AR are dirt cheap. Yep buyers market.

AKs, wheel guns, still seem to well for premium.

For the most part if you purchased a new gun of any brand at retail you have to wait about 10 years to get your money back or make a little profit. Normally the only exception is on a gun that the public thinks is going to be outlawed and there is a panic buy on them.
Used guns are a lot different.

Ill agree with Kahr being a hard sell usually take a beating on them. I've had several of them and sold the ones that weren't comfortable to shoot.

Yup... You can see this on a daily basis. It goes like I got a NIB with less than 500 rounds smile , not the original owner, is missing one mag, and I'm selling it for more that what it would cost you (including shipping and FFL) than a new one that is in stock from Buds. I mean what do they think? They should google the price befpre posting!
