I said I wasn't going to sell this rifle, but I'm going to go ahead and list it to fund my next 7mm/300 Win Mag. What is a 7mm/300 Win Mag? It is simply a 300 Win Mag case necked down to 7mm. It very closely replicates the 28 Nosler ballistics, but at a much lower ammunition cost. (See about the Berger 195 EOL below). I specifically built this rifle to shoot the new Berger 195 EOL (Extreme Outer Limits) bullet for ultra long range shooting and hunting. Basically, I built this rifle to be "THE Rifle of Rifles" for long range shooting! At the 2990 fps I am launching these 195 grain bullets at, the bullet stays supersonic to over 2000 yards!!!
Big Horn Action, long action, magnum bolt face
Bartlein barrel, 1:8" twist, 28" long, #11 contour (Medium Palma)
Harrels's Muzzle Brake (threaded 5/8"x24)
McMillan Game Scout Stock
HS Precision bottom metal with 5 round mag
Custom Cerakote, bronze and coyote on barrel, bolt, bolt release, and picatinny rail
20 MOA Seekins picatinny rail
Rifle is chambered with the PTG bore rider 7mm/300 Win Mag reamer. This reamer is a double shouldered throat, and is designed to pre-align the bullet as it goes into the rifling for better accuracy. It also allows for an increased bullet velocity over a standard reamer. You can read about the PTG bore rider reamer technology winning some F-class 308 Win matches on-line, also.
The rifle was built by Tony of ZG Custom Rifles, who does all my rifle builds. You can find some info about ZG Custom Rifles HERE.
I have shot this rifle and tested it with the 195 grain Berger EOL. It will run ~2990 fps. It shoots easily sub 1/2 moa, and has turned in several one hole groups at 100 and 200 yards. This load will stay supersonic past 2000 yards. I have about 60 rounds on the rifle now from barrel break-in, load testing, and some plinking at 930 yards and 1730 yards. I have shot it out to 1730 yards (30 yards short of a mile), and it did VERY well.
Ammunition- I can load custom 7mm/300 Win Mag ammo for $296 per 100 rounds. Once fired brass can be reloaded multiple times for $184 per 100 rounds. (Norma 300 WM brass, Retumbo powder, Fed 215M primer, and Berger 195 EOL). If you reload, I will gladly include my load data with the rifle.
I will take $3900 for the rifle (FIRM), no tax if paying cash/cashiers check. I am an FFL, and a form 4473 will need to be filled out upon purchase (free transfer). I can easily ship to you or your FFL, if needed. Feel free to call me at 972-Eight Seven Seven - 2356, or PM me here for info and purchasing. (If you want a rifle like this built, let me know, and I can build one for you.)
A little bit about this Berger 195 grain bullet. This bullet has such a high Ballistic Coefficient (BC), that it is leaps and bounds above any other bullets in the 6.5mm, 7mm, and .308" caliber offerings. At the 2990 fps I am launching these 195 grain bullets at, the bullet stays supersonic to over 2000 yards!!! The BC is so high, that it has very similar ballistics and trajectory to the 375 Chey-Tac with certain 350 grain bullets. And all this is in a simple 7mm/300 Win Mag case! It has less drop and the least amount of wind drift than any other round I have shot long range with. I have shot well over 3000 rounds with my TRG 42 in 300 WM with the 190 SMK, 208 A-max and 225 BTHP, and this 7mm spanks it! The Berger 195 EOL is truly a game changer bullet. http://www.bergerbullets.com/7mm-195gr-eol-elite-hunter-testing/http://www.bergerbullets.com/7mm-195gr-extreme-outer-limits-elite-hunter/
