Use the search function. There s reviews or people's thoughts from here on various threads. I did it one year and it wasn't bad.

chongo, recently moved up to the area and had to leave all my bird leases down south. Also going on the Sunday tour with D.J. Look for a mustached geezer with his wife and we can intro each other.

Hit or miss depending on the year. So much land its hard sometimes to narrow down a spot.

Hit or miss depending on the year. So much land its hard sometimes to narrow down a spot. Yeah, it's a large lease for what you pay for it. I was on it for several years but I also live in Grayson County and was only about five minutes away from some of the fields, so it was worth it to me. After the first two weeks of the season I normally had any field of my choosing to myself.

I'm going on the 3 o'clock tour. Ill look for ya.
I'm 15-20 minutes away and with the amount of land and the Veteran discount (25%) they offer, it's worth it IMO. I've got a few other places to hunt but nothing this close. It'll be easier to have one of my kids tag along with me too.

Well, I signed up for the lease! I don`t tour till the 20th. Could you all share some info from your tour? Nothing too detailed, just what kind of crops they`re growing, or if there`s much water, and if you see many birds? I`ll do the same after my tour. Thanks!

I went yesterday. Rode around with Tyler (I believe that was his name). Nice guy, answered all questions.
Corn is still standing and should be cut in the next 1-2 weeks. Most of the water on the leased properties is in the Leonard area. There are some bodies of water bordering leased fields in the Howe area.
I have not seen the Leonard area so I can't speak to it. I'll be sending in my check and paperwork today. With the military discount they offer (25% which is awesome) and being so close, it's a no brainer for me. Access to a number of fields for less than $200 isn't a bad deal.

I hunted it last year and had a pretty good season. Tons of land so scouting helps obviously. Hard to beat for price and proximity and ability to bring the boys along... I'm touring Howe this Sunday just to see how fields look and if any birds are flying yet but i plan to sign up again. I'll post any info I get from the tour that has not been posted already.

Toured Sunday! A lot of good looking land. A lot of standing corn. Not a lot of birds.
Pray for dry, sunny, windy weather!

My favorite field is breaks do scratch that one for a while. I saw one curmt field yesterday. It will probably be wall to wall on Friday. Oh, and if we get any rain this week forget goung without a 4x4. Roads are rutted up as bad as I have seen them. Last year in my Tacoma I had engage ATRAC and locker to get out of a big hole and that was on a road. On opening morn I had to use ATRAC and low range. Come Friday I am hoping that I did not sell my Tacoma a month too soon.

How many trucks you think will get stuck in the mud out there this year?

A bunch even 4x4s that do not have proper tires and 4 wheel limited slip/lockers. They could be there a while unless the know somebody with a winch. Tow trucks will not go too far off solid ground.

Hopefully guys are smart and don't destroy the land. I'm not even on the lease but I've used it before, and destroying the land is a good way to not only lose that track, but farmers talk to other farmers, and pretty soon none of them are going to allow outsiders to hunt. Please, please, please be respectful. A good walk never hurt nobody.

That ground out there looks like you'd be able to drive on it when it isn't soft/muddy, but it gets slicker than owl chit in a hurry. Like being on ice.

I went out this past Sunday and corn still standing in most of the fields because they are wet. Lots of fields, perhaps hunting solo is a good possibility. A couple of corn fields have been cut but very wet. Mainly corn planted in the fields with a couple of wheat fields and 1 soy bean. Didn't see much bird activity in this strange wet cool weather, probably due to hurricane Harvey. I am still pretty excited for the upcoming season and opener this coming Friday and hoping to see birds flying near my Mojo's...

Hopefully with this dry weather they have resumed cutting. Later in season might be better than early especially if they shred.
