Cobia are really good eating. Cool fish.

Looks like a great trip with lots of variety.

Everyone's caught a cobia this year except me, dammit! That was an awesome trip for y'all. What happened to the sharks tail fins? Y'all sell them for sharkfin soup?

Yes, did a trip in Daytona and my boat (not me personally) caught a nice cobia, couple sharpnose sharks around the same size. We had the shark and the cobia filetted up and marinated the shark in milk for a few hours, then seasoned both with some spice blend.

Grilled up easily and was quite tasty. Cobia was a better taste, almost no taste other than seasoning. Shark was more chicken consistency, much meatier, and had a slight taste but wasn't bad at all. Everyone that ate them both enjoyed them both.

Unfortunately all I hooked into were some good size red snappers, but they were illegal to take so we had to throw them back. Was still a fun trip.

Blackened is about the only way I'll eat a gray-meat-mackerel.

Give me grilled redfish on the half shell all day every day for the best table fare.

Yeah, I worked on an offshore vessel every summer in high school and have tried it every which way.

Not a fan.

Makes a great dip!

https://www.outdoorhub.com/how-to/2012/09/13/ted-suttles-smoked-king-mackerel-dip-recipe/

Might try adding some celery, Worchester, or tabasco to your liking. cheers

Awesome catch my friend! Great pics. Congrats to you and Hunter.

My youngest moved down to Houston and we were talking about checking out Surfside Beach. Looks like we'll have to make that trip.

cheers food

Great pics! Who was your guide? Where is a good place to stay in Surfside?
