That would be a bit un-nerving , but it looks like maybe they just wanted to get to the lake where he was camped.

He must have not been too scared since he went back and followed them to the water. If he really would have been afraid he also would not have been so concerned with recording and be more concerned of getting away and doubling back to camp.

He was just on the hwy, Cubs were wanting their time at the beech. Definite pucker factor though
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true

The biggest risk was the cubs deciding he was a play toy and running up on him. Even at that size, they could hurt him, and the instant he screamed or hit one off, mama may not have been as gentle.

You hear all of the horror stories about momma bears attacking humans when their cubs are around. This bear is obviously use to being around humans or she would have made at least one aggressive gesture towards that guy.

I think she's just heading to the beach on that trail and he's in the way, if he didn't back off it could have gotten ugly. He said they are following him, but I don't think so.

That's not to unusual there. I was at the same park last year and had a bear in the trail in front of me. Just get off the trail and they will mosey on by.
It's a pretty awesome place to go even if you do get a little close for comfort to the bears sometimes

They just wanted to play, and eat his guts. I'd have looked like a rocket running down that trail. Even the roadrunner couldn't have caught me.
