I understand what you guys are saying about leaving the phones behind but I could never do it. First of all it is my lifeline in the event something bad happens, secondly I use it for navigation, marking spots, etc.. and I like to take pics/videos of our hunting excursions.

Yeah, and I like to keep on eye on the weather as well. Now if walking 50 yards to a deer stand, maybe leave it in the truck. But heading across the lake at dark 30 in the morning in freezing conditions, I take all safety precautions.

Just got rid of mine.....edges of the phone were unresponsive.....people couldn't hear me as well....and thumb cover fell off rendering it non-waterproof.

OOPS, this just jogged my memory, DUH !!! I HAD a Lifeproof, it was great BUT, people couldn't hear me. SO, I got an Otter with the protective , stick on, glass cover, so far so good

Also, since I retired, I keep my phoned turned way down, much better.

If I had to leave my phone in the truck when I want to go duck hunting I'd have to take up golf. Running my business requires a phone on me pretty much full time. My buddy has commenced shooting at landing ducks while I've been on the phone taking care of business.

Leave phone in truck, when hunting alone on public lake- bad idea. I got 7+, 129.gets u 2 year warranty which covers water dmamge.....if u can find your phone. I swapped my regular 7 3x before it ended up inc7 foot of water in cedar creek. I still have until 8/2018 if I happen to find it- will swap for new one.

I recently dropped my phone in a water puddle and the speaker quit working (people could hear me but I couldn't hear them). I put it in a zip lock bag of rice that afternoon until the following morning and it's worked perfectly since then. That was the first time I tried the rice trick and it worked for me.

I hear a lot of old timers getting grumpy on hear about this new generation of youth and their dang electricity devices grin

Evolve or go extinct.... I just got the Iphone 7+ and put a lifeproof on it. The new designs are really slim and well made. Floated the river this past weekend and just left it in the bottom of the tube with me with no problems cheers

I must be an anomaly I leave my phone at camp, I don't want anyone calling me in the blind!

Not one drink. If I had a few drinks at least I would have had an excuse. I guess I'm just getting fat and old, I need to take up deer hunting. grin

Deer don't land on the water 10 feet in front of you. You will probably need to watch a couple of YouTube video's before heading out to the field.
