Due to this oppressive heat and humidity Texas is experiencing lately, I decided I would treat my dogs to a fan in the kennel. I have it set up where it blows across all the runs and gives them s nice breeze whenever they want it. Problem is ..........THEY DONT WANT IT!!!! They avoid it and don't want to get in the draft. Anyone' else experience this?

Nope, fans run all night so dogs seem to be used to them. Some of them pick a spot where the fan blows the hardest. Even with the dogs staying out of the direct blast from the fan, it probably makes the run more comfortable by increasing air circulation. I have fans in each kennel above the door, they are pointed down at about a 45 degree angle so that the air bounces of the floor. There is a little breeze directly into the dog houses--the dogs can avoid the fan blast completely by getting on platform on top of their houses.

My lab loves to lay in front of it after a workout.

Not to hikack...but what kind of fan would y'all use for an outdoor kennel?

I bought a 24" workstation fan from Northern Tool - first one I had lasted 7 years in the elements so figured I'd buy another one.

how would one of the old water cooler fans work?

Thought about misters but worried about mild, mold and fungus. Especially fungus.
