Hey guys, so I am going to start hunting coyotes, hogs, rabbits, raccoons, and just about any other varmint game at night. I originally ordered a green light from stalktech but decided to change it to red. I will be hunting around the 50 yard range and the light I got is the fury 1, has 2 modes of red light, low mode for around 40 yards, and high mode for about 100 yards. My question is do yall prefer red or green lights? Which is less likely to spook the animals? Thanks yall!

I use both colors, and over many years, I have never been able to tell any difference at all in the animals' reaction to being "lighted up." I've used white lights in the past, and generally got a negative reaction from the varmints/vermin.

White. Shine the sky and use the halo until you want to stop them,, then hit them in the eyes and shoot.

I've had much better results with a red light, especially for Coyotes/Fox/Canines and Hogs.
Green is within the spectrum hogs can see.
Raccoons and Rabbits....seems to make no difference.
Many folks choose green because WE can see it better. You will get longer range with green, but you lose 'detail' with it (compared to red).
Your 'night vision' will suffer less if you use red as well, though that might not matter depending upon what and how you are hunting.

Hell they can even see the glow from an IR light at the bulb if it is too bright.. Really try them all and see what works best for you. They all work if if you shine them right. I use the Predator Tactics Reaper and Nightmare - The Nightmare you can switch colors with the push of a button and see well past 400 yards without an issue. So you have which ever color works best for you (white, green, red, and blue) - PredatorTactics.us Discount code TXGH for 10% off Personally I like the green only becuase it works better on film, and green seems to light up eyes a little better for me. Get out there and try it and see what works best for you.

I like the green after using red for a lot of years. Brighter and I can't tell the animals act any different than red.

Our hogs will run on a red or green light. It appears they can see illumination regardless of the color. They come out to the mercury vapor light (white) on the the utility pole no problem. They also do not mind the white landscape lights that we use on the feeders. I remember about 15 years ago when I was out with my daughter night hunting. We turned on a red spot light and the pigs were gone before we even got it out of the blind window.

I use green but because I see them better in it. I haven't noticed that the animals paid more attention to one than the other but for my eyes green works better. I have a buddy that basically can't see anything unless it's lit up with blue.
