I'm doing load development with RL16 in my 6.5 Creedmoor with 143 ELD X. What are using as a starting point with that powder? Also, has anyone tried RL16 with Lapua Creedmoor brass? I had to drop my powder charge by 1 grain with Lapua brass and H4350. Any info is appreciated.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

Just looking on line, I didn't see any. But there is some 260 Rem data (below) with R16. If you reduce this 260 Rem data by 1 to 1.5 grains (for Hornady brass) for the Creedmoor, that will be about right. Lapua brass will have less internal case volume and probably tighter necks, so reduce further by about .5 to 1 full grain. http://www.alliantpowder.com/downloads/RL16_Initial_Loads.pdf

Also, looking at the Alliant R16 data, their data was done with FC (Federal) brass. In the 260 and 6.5 CM, I've seen the FC brass need about .5 to 1 full grain less powder to equal 6.5 CM Hornady brass. One load I did with FC brass I used my Hornady load, and it was blowing primers. I reduced the load 1 grain, and it was back on track. The 6.5 CM FC brass must have less internal case volume than Hornady.

Where should I start with the gear I have? My sweet spot with Lapua brass and H4350 is 41.0 grains. That's a full grain less than my Hornady brass loads. Since the burn rate with RL16 and 4350 are close, should I start at 41 or drop back to 40 and work up in .5 grain increments?
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

Yes, I would start slightly lower, and work up to find your speeds and/or pressure.

I'm at 43.1 which is giving me 2913fps with a 140 out of Prime(Norma) brass.

First 2 groups. That's 41.0 and 41.3 grains. The next few groups opened up a little until I got to 42.0. Then I hit 42.3 grains and my group was back to .3 MOA. That's where I left it.

I lased 109 yards from the right side of the tower, even with the shooter to the white backer board with a 1 yr old pair of Newcon optics LRB 7x42 binos. Maybe they are off, but they better not be for the price they charge. Lol

Maybe so. I was just going off what mine read. I hate not having any trust my 3k dollar rangefinder though. Lol Or, maybe your land is just growing

My lupy RX1000i says it is 104 from the center of the platform to the zero line. I have always wondered why I was just a hair off
