I want to change my dove game up this year. Usually we hunt the family ranch and hike a lot. This year we want to sit in one flyway and draw in flyers using anything we works

This is what I set up for me and my bride. She can't hit them flying that well. So I tell her she can shoot them on the right side or the left side of the spinning wing decoy. They land on the cross piece repeatedly and she hammers their butt.

big fan of the MOJO's. I put two out right at 30 yards. try to stay in shade.

most important is DON'T MOVE when they are coming in to your MOJO. worst mistake I make, move too quick.

I just got back from 10 days on Alaska trip with the wife. If you want to change things up this year and sit on a flyway....go out to West Tx. But your behind on time though. Season is approaching fast. If your on a good lease, you don't need anything but your gun/shells/beverages partyon555

Buzzsaw said it ------ DONT MOVE when they are coming in.

I put a mojo on a pole about 10-12 feet in the air --------- the birds 200 yds away can see it and come check it out.

Elevate your mojo on a budget. Go down to local home depot and pick up some pvc for about $5, paint it brown, stick your mojo in there and presto 8ft in the air. I cut mine in 3 pieces for easy transport. You could build a T as well for clip on decoys if that suits you...

No, I'm not a good shot, but I shoot often.

Had one of my best hunts ever like this, me and my son. We were hunting a property with no food, all the fields were plowed dirt. We got there right when sun was coming up, so we were looking for a place to set up fast, saw a field with dove flying over it, not landing, but flying over. So we put out 2 mojos, and about 12 or so decoys on the ground like they were feeding on a pile of seed. It was the bomb! Never seen dove turn, and cup up like ducks before! We had our limit in like 30 minutes, I had to tell my son to stop shooting a couple times so I could count. But that is what I would do, find a good spot with just dirt, good landing spot, and simulate dove feeding on a pile of seed! My guess the dvoe we shot were headed to a feeding ground, saw our set up, and said lets eat here!

If your field holds a lot of dove, u need nothing.
just stay still and look where they are flying in and out the field the day before
every year the same shiat. opening day 50 people with 3 mojos each. it almost scares the dove
this year most fields will be shot out after 4 days of non stop pounding.
Going west is the key or shoot between 2 and 5 pm during the week around metroplex.
this year I have a couple of large fields Obama self, so I will be spoiled.
hunting right after a pop corn storm is usually real good too.

The best thing about a Mojo is it takes the doves eyes off you.........

I got a mojo on sale and 4 of those little spinners that turn on and off every 4 seconds. That and 12 decoys on a fenceline should do it. I got a promos call for my son to try out also

I'll let you know how it works

I rarely use mojo's on the first few days of the season, but after that its game on.

I dunno about 40 years ago but i have been hunting dove for the same way for 35 (i was a teen when I started). I have a son now and just want to try something with less hiking and just different. I have nothing against change or trying new things. Sometimes it is even fun.
